New Metro Audiocast Available Online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated December 14, is now available to customers on www.metroopensdoors.com and on iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week, and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

The “On Track” audiocast posted today tells listeners about weekend single-tracking for rail car testing and track work that will cause delays of up to 20 minutes on the Red, Orange, Blue, Orange and Green lines.

The audiocast provides information about Metro’s newly approved fare increase, holiday safety tips and the addition of eight-car trains to the Red, Green and Orange Lines during rush hour. It also tells listeners about weekend’s events such as La Feria de la Familia and how to get there via Metrorail or Metrobus.

Listeners can send comments and suggestions for future audiocasts to ontrack@wmata.com.

Online users can download the audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices, such as an iPod or zune. In addition, the Metro audiocast is now available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title to find the Metro audiocast. Individuals can also subscribe on iTunes to automatically receive each week’s downloads.
