Metro Posts New Fare Information on Web Site

Customers who want to know how much their Metro trips will cost when the new fares go into effect on January 6, 2008, can now find out how much those trips will be. A new feature on Metro’s web site helps customers get the exact cost for their trips.

Customers can go to: http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/stations_fares.cfm for the list of stations to access the new fares information. Or, customers can go to Metro’s web site at MetroOpensDoors.com. A list of Quick Links will appear on the top of the home page. Click on New Fares/Fees. Then click on “Metrorail Fares (Click here to view the fares between specific stations).” Customers can then choose their departure station and the list of all stations and the new fares will appear on the screen. Travel time is also included.
Another way to find out the new travel prices is to access the “Maps and Stations” link on Metro’s home page. Then click on “Bus and Rail Maps.” Click the “Metrorail Map” and click on a departure station. Choose an arrival station. Click on “Display new fares.”

Metro’s Board of Directors approved the fare increases for Metrorail, Metrobus and parking fees effective Sunday, January 6, 2008.
