Metro Transit Police arrest five for robbery, assault

Metro Transit Police have arrested and charged one adult and four juveniles for assaulting and robbing a Metrorail passenger on board a train.

A 25-year old District of Columbia resident was assaulted and robbed of personal items at about 2 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, by five individuals aboard a Blue Line train. Now all of the assailants have been charged with the crime.

Tarus Stroddard, 18 of Oxon Hill, MD, was charged with robbery, force and violence. The juveniles, residents of the District of Columbia, were also charged with robbery, force and violence.

"If someone commits a crime in our system, especially a violent crime such as this, our detectives will do everything possible to track down the assailants and bring them to justice," said Acting Transit Police Chief Michael Daly.
