Rehabilitation of Glenmont parking garage to temporarily decrease parking spaces

The garage at the Glenmont Metrorail station will undergo a major rehabilitation project beginning Monday, January 14, resulting in the temporary loss of up to 200 parking spaces during the first phase of the 12- to 18-month project.

The garage rehabilitation will take place in phases and includes concrete, structural and drainage repairs of the facility, which opened in 1989. Throughout the course of the rehabilitation, approximately 200 of the total 1,781 parking spaces will be unavailable for use.

Metro has placed signs in the parking garage and in the Glenmont Metrorail station to alert drivers about the impending construction work. Customers who are unable to find parking at Glenmont Metrorail station will be directed to the nearby Wheaton or Forest Glen Metrorail stations.
