New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated March 7, is now available to customers on www.metroopensdoors.com and on iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week, and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

The “On Track” audiocast posted today tells listeners about the switch replacement project at the Van Ness-UDC Metrorail station and the effect it will have on Red Line riders. Red Line customers are asked to build an extra 30 minutes into their travel plans. The audiocast also talks about track work on the Green Line, bus detours and the new Y31 bus route to Yorktown High School in Arlington.

The audiocast provides information about the change to Daylight Saving Time this weekend, the regional Street Smart pedestrian safety campaign, and upcoming Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards games at the Verizon Center and how to get there via Metrorail or Metrobus. The audiocast also includes information Metro’s elevator rehabilitation projects.

Online users can download the audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices, such as an iPod or zune. In addition, the Metro audiocast is now available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title to find the Metro audiocast. Individuals can also subscribe on iTunes to automatically receive each week’s downloads.
