Metro Transit Police arrest suspect for Columbia Heights robberies

The Metro Transit Police arrested a 17-year-old male from Northwest Washington, D.C., on Monday, March 10, for a series of robberies at the Columbia Heights Metrorail station.

The suspect was charged with three counts of armed robbery in District of Columbia Superior Court for incidents at the Columbia Heights Metrorail station between March 1 and March 7. The individual carried a gun, and stole wallets and cell phones from his victims.

Metro Transit Police worked closely with the Metropolitan Police Department to identify and arrest the suspect. Additional robbery charges are pending.
