New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated April 4, is now available to customers on www.metroopensdoors.com and on iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week, and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

The “On Track” audiocast posted today tells listeners about Metrorail’s temporary suspension of scheduled weekend track work in time for the busy spring travel season. The audiocast also includes information about Metro’s current elevator rehabilitation projects.

The audiocast provides information about the National Cherry Blossom festival, travel tips to get to the blossoms, and the 5 a.m. early opening of Metrorail for the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Race. It also includes information about the April 17 papal visit and mass, and sale of the commemorative one-day Mass Pass. The audiocast also discusses Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals games at the Verizon Center, DC United games at RFK Stadium and Washington Nationals games at Nationals Park, and how to get there via Metrorail or Metrobus.

Online users can download the audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices, such as an iPod or zune. In addition, the Metro audiocast is now available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title to find the Metro audiocast. Individuals can also subscribe on iTunes to automatically receive each week’s downloads.
