Metro seeks customer input for service on Metrobus 16th Street Line

Metro and the District Department of Transportation are hosting a public meeting next Tuesday, July 15, as part of a study to improve bus service along the 16th Street Line in Northwest Washington.

The 16th Street Line, which includes the S1, S2 and S4 routes, has the third highest ridership of any line in the Metrobus system with an average of 16,000 passengers per weekday.

The meeting is part of a study which asks riders for their opinions about bus improvements. The study includes public meetings and rider surveys, investigates service routes, types of buses, bus stop designs and locations, traffic and reviews sources of funding.

The study also will include recommending improvements and developing service and operation plans.

The public is invited to identify problems and take a hands-on role in crafting solutions to improve the 16th Street Line. The first meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church, 16th and Newton Streets, NW Washington.

A second meeting is expected to be scheduled this fall.
