Track Maintenance to Affect the Blue and Yellow Lines This Weekend

Track maintenance on the Blue and Yellow lines this weekend (July 12-13) will cause inbound and outbound trains to take turns sharing one track.

Blue and Yellow Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between Pentagon City and Braddock Road Metrorail stations should add at least 35 minutes of travel time to their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains will share one track between these locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13.

To alleviate train congestion through the single track location, every other Yellow Line train traveling in the direction of Huntington and every other Blue Line train traveling in the direction of Franconia-Springfield will terminate at Pentagon City Metrorail station and return to Fort Totten and Largo Town Center Metrorail stations respectively. All other Blue and Yellow Line trains traveling between Pentagon City and Huntington/Franconia Springfield Metrorail stations will operate every 36 minutes.
