New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated July 11, is now available to customers on www.metroopensdoors.com and on iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week, and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

The “On Track” audiocast posted today tells listeners about elevator rehabilitation projects and Metrorail repairs and track work that will cause delays on the Blue and Yellow lines.

The audiocast also includes information about parking lots closed for construction. For a complete list of closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com, go to the left hand side under Alerts and Advisories and click Service Disruptions to view the full list.

The audiocast includes information on upcoming sporting events such as the DC United games on July 12, 15 and 19, Nationals games on July 11, 12 and 13 at Nationals Park, and Washington Mystics games at the Verizon Center on July 13 and 18. Additionally, there is information on the upcoming Washington Kastles tennis matches, and the 2008 Capital Fringe Festival with performance artists.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes to automatically receive each week’s downloads.
