Metro details weekend rail delays for the Orange, Yellow and Blue lines

Track maintenance on the Orange Line and a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) project on the Yellow and Blue Lines this weekend (July 26-27) will cause inbound and outbound trains to take turns sharing one track.

Orange Line track maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between East Falls Church and Vienna Metrorail stations on the Orange Line should add at least 20 minutes of travel time to their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains will share one track between these locations from 7 a.m. Saturday, July 26, until closing (midnight) on Sunday, July 27.

To alleviate train congestion through the single-track location, every other Orange Line train traveling in the direction of Vienna will terminate at East Falls Church Metrorail station and return to New Carrollton Metrorail station.

Yellow and Blue Line delays

Metrorail customers traveling between Braddock Road and Huntington Metrorail stations on the Yellow and Blue lines should add at least 20 minutes of travel time to their trips because of an FTA project. Inbound and outbound trains will share one track between these locations from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27.
