Columbia Heights Metrorail Station Reopens After Suspicious Package Cleared


Nothing dangerous found

The Columbia Heights Metrorail station reopened at 11:45 a.m. today (Sept. 16) following a report of a suspicious package located outside the station. The station was closed for one hour 42 minutes, starting at 10:03 a.m.

Green Line trains continued to operate through the station during the incident, but did not stop. Metro provided free shuttle bus service between the Georgia Ave-Petworth and U St/African-Amer Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Metrorail stations to help move people around the incident.
