Track Maintenance to Affect Metro's Red, Blue, Orange and Green Lines This Weekend


Add 20 minutes to your Metrorail trips

Track maintenance on the Red, Blue, Orange and Green lines this weekend (September 26-28) will cause inbound and outbound trains to take turns sharing one track.

Red Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between the Fort Totten, Takoma, and Silver Spring Metrorail stations should add at 20 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Trains will share one track between these locations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28.

Blue and Orange Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between the Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory Metrorail stations should add 20 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Trains will share one track between these locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28.

Green Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between the Fort Totten and Prince George’s Plaza Metrorail stations should add 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Trains will share one track between these locations from 8 p.m., Friday, September 26, to closing (3 a.m), Saturday, September 27. Yellow Line trains will terminate at Mt. Vernon Sq due to the Green Line single tracking.
