Person struck by train at Suitland Metrorail station


No train service between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue

Suitland Metrorail station is temporarily closed and trains are turning back at Naylor Road Metrorail station due to a person who was struck by a train. There is no train service between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue Metrorail stations. Riders can expect delays of up to 45 minutes headed in both directions. The disruption is expected to continue until mid-afternoon.

A six-car train headed in the direction of Branch Avenue struck the man at 11:52 a.m. today (October 10).

Shuttle buses will be available at Branch Avenue, Suitland and Naylor Road Metrorail stations to get customers around the incident.

Metro Transit Police and Prince George’s County fire fighters are on the scene investigating the incident. The preliminary investigation indicates that the individual was on the tracks intentionally.
