New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated November 21, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about Metrorail track work that will cause delays on the Blue Line and bus detours in the District of Columbia and Maryland this weekend. For a complete list of closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com, scroll over “Alerts & advisories” on the left-hand side of the page and select “Service disruptions.”

The audiocast also tells listeners about Metro’s service plans for the Thanksgiving holiday on November 27. Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule, opening at 7 a.m. and closing at midnight. On Black Friday, November 28, Metrorail will open an hour early at 4 a.m. to help shoppers rake in the bargains.

There is also information about upcoming events such as the Washington Wizards basketball games on November 21, 25, 27 and 29, the Washington Capitals hockey games on November 26 and 28, and the Washington Redskins football game on November 30. Details about the upcoming Presidential Inauguration in January are also included in this week’s audiocast.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
