Take Metro to the inaugural EagleBank Bowl Saturday, December 20

Extra trains available after the football game

Metro trains and stations may be crowded Saturday morning, as the United States Naval Academy and Wake Forest University play in the inaugural EagleBank college football bowl at 11 a.m. at R.F.K. Stadium. Metro is preparing to handle the anticipated crowds with extra trains and personnel. To save time, riders should have enough money on their farecard or SmarTrip card when leaving Metro after the game.

Metro will operate its regular Saturday schedule on the Blue and Orange Lines leading up to game time. Trains will come every 7 to 8 minutes in downtown Washington.

After the game, additional trains will be deployed if necessary on the Blue and Orange Lines depending on the size of the crowds riding to the Stadium-Armory Metrorail station. Additional station managers, rail supervisors, and Transit Police will be at the Stadium-Armory Metrorail station to assist customers.

Patrons are reminded to use both entrances at the Stadium-Armory Metrorail station. The main entrance, closest to R.F.K. Stadium, is located at 19th Street and Independence Avenue, S.E. The second entrance is located two blocks away at 19th Street between C and Burke Streets, S.E.
