Advanced sales begin on Metro’s Web site

Metro’s commemorative Barack Obama Inaugural SmarTrip cards and One-Day passes are now available for sale on Metro’s Web site at http://www.wmata.com/fares/purchase/store/

People have the option of purchasing in advance the commemorative SmarTrip cards or One-Day Passes with President-elect Barack Obama on them. The SmarTrip cards can be purchased in advanced for $10 each without fare value, or for $20, which includes $10 fare value loaded onto the card. The One-Day Pass, valid for travel for one-day throughout Inauguration Weekend, (Jan. 17 to 20) can be purchased for $10, per card.

People can also sign up for special e-alerts, dedicated to the Inauguration, on Metro’s Web site at http://www.wmata.com/inauguration. E-alerts will be issued when Metro has news relating to service for the Inauguration, and, perhaps more importantly, when there may be service disruptions during the course of the four-day Inauguration Weekend.
