New Metrobus service changes in Virginia begin December 28


16 bus lines to see changes

Metrobus service will change on 16 lines in Virginia, beginning Sunday, December 28.

3T Pimmit Hills Line
The Saturday schedule will change. Trip times will be adjusted up to five minutes later.

10A Hunting Towers-Pentagon Line
The Sunday schedule will change. Trip times will be adjusted up to nine minutes later.

10B Hunting Towers-Ballston Line
The Sunday schedule will change. Trip times will be adjusted to operate between eight minutes earlier and 12 minutes later.

11Y Mount Vernon Express Line
The 4:10 p.m. bus will be extended from Hunting Towers to Mt. Vernon. Buses will be extended to Potomac Park. Weekday mornings, buses will end at 19th Street and Virginia Avenue. In the afternoon, buses will leave from 18th and C streets, NW. Weekday afternoon and evening bus schedules will change slightly.

15K, 15L Chain Bridge Road Line
The route will be shortened to run between Rosslyn and Tysons Corner. The schedule also will change to improve transfer connections at Tysons Corner with the new 15M Metrobus. The loop into Lewinsville Retirement Home will be discontinued. Buses will serve the bus stops on Great Falls Street at the entrance to the facility.

15M New George Mason University-Tysons Corner Line
A new 15M bus will serve a portion of the current 15K and 15L route between George Mason University and Tysons Corner. Buses will run weekdays, approximately every 25 to 40 minutes.

16Y Columbia Pike-Farragut Square Line
The weekday schedule will change. Buses will run every 7½ minutes between 7:15 and 8:30 a.m. and every 10 minutes between 4:55 and 6:25 p.m. One morning bus and one afternoon bus will be added to the weekday schedule.

18P Burke Centre Line
Buses leaving the Pentagon Transit Center weekdays between 4:40 and 6:10 p.m. will operate as local service. Buses will serve all bus stops west of the I-95/395 HOV Lanes, including along Old Keene Mill Road.

21A-F Landmark-Pentagon Line
Weekdays between 4:40 and 5:30 p.m., buses will leave the Pentagon Transit Center every 10 minutes.

25A, 25C, 25D Ballston-Bradlee-Pentagon Line
Bus schedules will change. Service will be rerouted on Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria campus. Only some 25A, 25C and 25D buses will run on Fillmore Avenue during rush hours. The 25A will stop at Skyline Plaza (3703-05 George Mason Drive).

25B Landmark-Ballston Line
Weekday and Saturday schedules will change. Buses will be rerouted on Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria Campus to bypass Fillmore Avenue. Service via George Mason Drive and Skyline Plaza will be discontinued. Service will continue on Seminary Road at George Mason Drive.

28B Alexandria-Tysons Corner Line
An additional bus will leave Tysons Corner on weekdays at 10 p.m. going to Bailey’s Crossroads. This trip will bypass Seven Corners Center (Leesburg Pike at Castle Road).

28F Skyline City Line
The 4:35 p.m. bus will leave at 4:40 p.m.

38B Ballston-Farragut Square Line
On weekdays, buses will run every 12 minutes during morning rush hours, every 20 minutes in the mid-day and every 15 minutes during afternoon rush hours. In the evenings, buses will run every 30 minutes until service ends after 1 a.m. On Saturdays, buses will run every 30 to 35 minutes until service ends after 1 a.m., and on Sundays, buses will run every 30 minutes. After 8 p.m. on Sundays buses will run every 30 to 35 minutes until midnight.

REX Richmond Highway Express
The weekday schedule will change. Buses will run every 12 minutes during rush hours.
