New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated January 9, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about Metrorail track work that will cause delays on the Blue Line this weekend. There is also information about a Metrobus detour and an elevator rehabilitation at Anacostia Metrorail station. To stay up to date on unplanned closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com and check out the “Metro Service Status” box in the lower left corner of the page.

The audiocast also tells listeners about upcoming events such as the Washington Wizards basketball games on January 10, 12 and 16, the Washington Capitals hockey games on January 9 and 13 and the Georgetown Hoyas basketball game on January 10.

Details about Metro’s service plans for the upcoming Presidential Inauguration on Tuesday, January 20, are also included in this week’s audiocast.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
