New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated February 13, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about a major Metrorail track rehabilitation project at the Pentagon Metrorail station this weekend that will cause delays on the Blue and Yellow lines. There is also information about ongoing elevator rehabilitations at Ballston and Shaw-Howard U Metrorail stations. To stay up to date on unplanned closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com and check out the “Metro Service Status” box in the lower left corner of the page.

The audiocast tells listeners about public hearings next week on the proposed elimination of Metrobus routes 2W, 12A-S, 20F-Y and N22. Service for those routes will be taken over by the Fairfax Connector and the DC Circulator.

There is also information in this week’s audiocast about upcoming events such as the Washington Wizards basketball games on February 17 and 21, the Washington Capitals hockey game on February 18 and 20, and the Georgetown Hoyas basketball game on February 21.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTunes store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
