Street closings affected by State of the Union address at the U.S. Capitol tomorrow night will impact select Metrobus routes

Five Metrobus routes to be detoured due to street closures

The President of the United States will deliver his State of the Union Address tomorrow night at the U.S. Capitol at 9 p.m., resulting in numerous street closings for security purposes as early as 7:30 p.m.

Metrobus routes 32, 34, 36 (Friendship Heights/Pennsylvania Avenue Line), 96 (Capitol Heights Station/McLean Gardens Line) and the N22 (Navy Yard/Union Station Loop Shuttle) will be rerouted from 7:30 p.m. until the President leaves the area.

Customers should expect to add time to their trips if they travel along these five routes. Metro appreciates its customers’ patience and understanding.
