The newest Metro audiocast, dated February 27, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about track work that will cause delays on the Yellow and Green lines this weekend. There is also information about ongoing elevator rehabilitations at Ballston and Shaw-Howard U Metrorail stations. To stay up to date on unplanned closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com and check out the “Metro Service Status” box in the lower left corner of the page.

The audiocast also tells listeners about new federal legislation that increases the SmartBenefits® allowance to $230 a month on March 1. Metro’s SmartBenefits® program allows employers to electronically administer the transit benefit program and directly load the benefit to their employees’ SmarTrip® cards.

Listens can also find out about events around the city such as the Washington Wizards basketball games on February 27 and March 2, the Washington Capitals hockey games on March 1, 3, 5 and 8, and the Georgetown Hoyas basketball game on March 7.
