New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated March 20, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about track work that will cause delays on the Red, Blue and Orange lines this weekend. There is also information about two scheduled bus detours this weekend and ongoing elevator rehabilitations at Ballston and Shaw-Howard U Metrorail stations. To stay up to date on unplanned closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com and check out the “Metro Service Status” box in the lower left corner of the page.

The audiocast tells listeners about rules for exchanging paper Metrocheks that will change on April 1 and an upcoming SmartBenefits seminar on April 7.

There is also information about upcoming events such as the SunTrust National Marathon on Saturday, Washington Wizards basketball games on March 23, 25 and 28, a Washington Capitals hockey game on March 27, and a DC United soccer game on March 28.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTunes store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
