New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated April 24, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about track work that will cause delays on the Red, Blue and Orange lines this weekend. There is also information about scheduled bus detours and ongoing elevator rehabilitations at Ballston and Shaw-Howard U Metrorail stations. To stay up to date on unplanned closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com and check out the “Metro Service Status” box or sign up for eAlerts in the lower left corner of the page.

The audiocast also tells listeners about current exhibitions at the Smithsonian Art Museum and upcoming sporting events, such as the Washington Capitals hockey game tonight (April 24) and Washington Nationals baseball games April 30 through May 3.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTunes store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
