New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated May 8, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about track work that will cause delays on the Orange and Red lines this weekend. There is also information about one scheduled bus detour. To stay up to date on unplanned closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com and check out the “Metro Service Status” box or sign up for eAlerts in the lower left corner of the page.

The audiocast tells listeners about public meetings on May 12 and 19 to discuss recommendations to improve service on Metrobus routes 28A and 28B.

Information about National Police Week, May 10 to 16, is included in this week’s audiocast. Events will take place throughout the week to honor the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement.

There is also information about the 2009 Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival and sporting events, such as the Washington Capitals hockey games on May 9 and 13, DC United soccer game on May 9, and Washington Nationals baseball games May 15 through 17.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTunes store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
