New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated June 19, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about track work that will cause delays on the Orange, Blue and Yellow lines this weekend. To stay up to date on unplanned closings, detours and delays, visit http://www.metroopensdoors.com and check out the “Metro Service Status” box or sign up for eAlerts in the lower left corner of the page.

The audiocast tells listeners about upcoming Metrobus service changes that will take effect on Sunday, June 28. There is also information about the 2009 Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival and free outdoor movies at Crystal City and NoMa Capitol Hill North throughout the summer.

This week’s audiocast includes details about other upcoming events such as the Smithsonian Folklife Festival June 24-28 and July 1-5, Washington Mystics basketball games June 20 and 25, Washington Nationals baseball games June 19-21 and 23-25, and Sounds in the Square free concerts every Thursday night through July 23 at Farragut Square Park in Washington, D.C.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTunes store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
