Metro Transit Police seek public's assistance to find missing person


Woman last seen at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at New Carrollton Metrorail station

The Metro Transit Police Department is seeking the public’s help to find a missing woman who was last seen at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at the New Carrollton Metrorail station.

Thelma Thomas is missing. Anyone with information is asked to please call the Metro Transit Police Department immediately at 202-962-2121. The woman, Thelma Thomas, also goes by the names Thelma Williams and Carmen Williams. She has been diagnosed with mental health issues.

Police say Thomas, 64, was last seen when her son dropped her off Thursday morning at the New Carrollton Metrorail station. She was scheduled to take a bus to Brooklyn, NY, to meet a family member, but she never arrived.

Thomas, of Bowie, Md., is 5’4” tall and weighs between 140 and 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a green shirt with multicolored stripes, blue jeans and black shoes. She was carrying a multicolored purse with flowers on it.
