New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated July 17, is now available on www.metroopensdoors.com and iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact weekend travel.

This edition of “On Track” tells listeners about track work that will cause delays on the Red, Orange and Blue lines this weekend. To stay up to date on unplanned closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com and check out the “Metro Service Status” box or sign up for eAlerts in the lower left corner of the page.

The audiocast also tells listeners about free outdoor movies throughout the summer at the Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival and the Capitol Riverfront and NoMa Capitol Hill North neighborhoods.

This week’s audiocast includes details about upcoming sporting events such as the Washington Kastles tennis games July 21, 22 and 26, the Washington Mystics basketball games July 18, 21 and 23, DC United soccer game on July 18 and the Washington Nationals baseball games July 16 through 26.

There is also information about Sounds in the Square free concerts every Thursday night through July 30 at Farragut Square Park in Washington, D.C.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTunes store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
