Metrobus service changes to Columbia Pike-Farragut Square Line (16Y) set to begin on Monday, April 7

Changes to Metrobus Route 16Y, the Columbia Pike-Farragut Square Line, will begin on Monday, April 7, and include modifying the routing and stop restrictions in response to customers" requests.

During the morning eastbound trips from Arlington toward the District of Columbia, a boarding only stop will be added at the corner of Courthouse Road and Second Street and the downtown routing will be extended to 14th and I (Eye) Streets, NW, via K Street eastbound, right at 14th Street to the terminal stand on the west side of 14th Street, south of I Street at the entrance to the McPherson Square Metrorail station.

During the afternoon westbound trips, the route will be changed to operate via Courthouse Road between Second Street and Columbia Pike. Buses will follow the present route to Washington Boulevard and Walter Reed Drive, then turn right onto Walter Reed Drive, left onto Courthouse Road, right onto Columbia Pike and continue its present route to Four Mile Run Drive and Columbia Pike. A stop will be added at the corner of Courthouse Road and Second Street. As a result of this rerouting, the 16Y bus will no longer serve the two westbound stops on Columbia Pike at Rolfe and Scott streets. Instead, customers can alight at Courthouse Road and Columbia Pike and will have no more than a two block walk to the former stop locations on Columbia Pike.
