Metro names winners in its Annual Student Poster Contest

Metro has announced the winners in the Annual Student Poster Contest with the theme, "Metro 2020: Vision of the Future Metrobus and Metrorail." The transit agency selected the winners of this contest, including the Poster of the Year, at a reception for the student artists and their parents and teachers on Friday, May 16. (See winning posters.)

First, second, and third place prizes were awarded in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia in the following categories in each jurisdiction: primary (grades K-3); elementary (grades 4-6); junior high (grades 7-9); and senior high (grades 10-12). Four grand prizes were awarded, one each for the primary, elementary, junior, and senior high school categories. One winning entry was named the Poster of the Year, with this poster to be showcased on Metrobuses, in Metrorail stations, and on the Metro Web site.
