Metrorail to open at 6 a.m. this Saturday morning

This Saturday, November 22, 2003, the Metrorail system will open one hour early, at 6 a.m., to accommodate participants for the Fannie Mae "Walk for the Homeless" in the area around the National Mall. The walk is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Participants are expected to take Metrorail and exit at the Smithsonian station on the Blue, and Orange lines, L’Enfant Plaza station on the Blue, Orange, Green and Yellow lines, and the Archives Navy-Memorial station on the Green and Yellow lines. For those driving to Metrorail stations to begin their trips, parking is free at Metro-operated parking lots and garages during weekends and children ages four and under ride free with a fare paying customer.
