Shuttle bus service established during elevator rehabilitation at Ft. Totten and Arlington Cemetery Metrorail stations

Work expected to take 10 weeks

Elevator rehabilitation and modernization work will begin Monday, December 1, on the only elevator at the Ft. Totten Metrorail station and the outbound platform elevator at the Arlington Cemetery Metrorail station (toward Franconia-Springfield). Both are scheduled to be completed in 10 weeks, during which time they will be out of service. Elevator rehabilitation and modernization work encompasses a complete overhaul of the elevator.

A temporary shuttle bus is available for customers who request it.

Those customers who normally enter or exit at the Ft. Totten Metrorail station should contact the station manager where they enter the system to request the shuttle bus. The shuttle service will be provided at the Brookland Metrorail station for the Red Line and Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metrorail station on the Green Line.

Customers who usually enter or exit at the Arlington Cemetery Metrorail station should contact the station manager where they enter the system to request the shuttle bus so it can meet them at the Pentagon Metrorail station to pick them up and take them to the Arlington Cemetery station.

Shuttle buses are stationed in these areas to accommodate the customers who may be inconvenienced by the elevator upgrade work.
