Metro to hold public hearing on the proposed Metro Transit Police station at Fort Totten

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, at the Dominion Church of Washington at 5335 First Place, N.E., in Washington, D.C. to discuss a proposed new Metro Transit Police station near the Fort Totten Metrorail station. The proposed new Metro Transit Police Department station will be a three-story structure totaling 18,500 square feet, that will house up to 140 police officers and will accommodate future growth requirements for the Metro Transit Police Department. The proposed location for the new transit police station would be located on Metro-owned property and consequently, no permanent private property rights would be required for the construction of the new police station.
