Selected Metrobus timetables available in PDA formats

Eighty-one bus routes are now available for downloading onto PDAs such as Palm Pilots and other Pocket PCs from Metro’s Web site, www.metroopensdoors.com, as a pilot to gauge consumer interest. The pilot is a joint project of Metro, Arlington County’s CommuterPage.com, the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission and the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission. Schedules for all of the bus routes in Northern Virginia and select routes in the District of Columbia and Maryland are available for Palm OS devices. To check which routes are available for downloading directly to a PDA, visit Metro’s homepage (www.metroopensdoors.com) and click on one of the links to access the timetables for Virginia, the District of Columbia or Maryland. Each bus route listed has an icon that allows someone to download a pdf file, and the ones that are downloadable to PDAs also have an icon of a handheld device. An individual only has to click onto the icon of the handheld device to get step-by-step instructions on how to download the timetable to their device. For more information on Metro, visit www.metroopensdoors.com or call 202-637-7000.
