Metro to Host Community Day In Washington, D.C., to Update Citizens on Progress of the New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet U Metrorail Station

WHEN: Saturday, October 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: The Giant Food Grocery Store, 1050 Brentwood Road, N.E.; adjacent to the Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail station.

WHO: Metro representatives from Customer Relations, Office of Communications, and Project Managers representing the New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet U and Blue Line expansion project. WHAT: The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) is hosting a Community Day in Washington, D.C., to brief residents on the status of the New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet U Metrorail station, and the Blue Line extension project to Largo, MD. Metro officials representing several different departments, will provide an update on the construction of these three new stations, discuss station amenities, safety and security issues, bus service enhancements, new parking facilities, and answer questions for the local community.

The New York Ave-Florida Avenue-Gallaudet U Metrorail station on the Red Line will open on Saturday, November 20. The Largo Town Center and Morgan Boulevard Metrorail stations on the Blue Line will open on Saturday, December 18.
