Metro to update community on Columbia Pike transit initiative

Two open houses scheduled for next week

Metro will host a series of open houses to update the community on the Pike Transit Initiative, a study that is examining transportation alternatives along the rapidly growing Columbia Pike corridor from the Pentagon/Pentagon City area to Baileys Crossroads.

The meetings will feature a discussion on bus rapid transit and streetcars.

The open houses will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. with the formal presentation starting at 7 p.m. on:

Monday, Nov. 8 at the Arlington Career Center, 816 S. Walter Reed Drive, Arlington, Va.

Wednesday, Nov. 10 at the Mason District Governmental Center Community Room, 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, Va.
