Holiday Shopping made easy on Metro’s Web site

T-shirts for every Metrorail station in the system now available

Just in time for the holidays, Metro has re-launched its online gift store featuring an array of items from T-shirts to cufflinks. Customers are sure to find something for every Metro rider on their gift lists at www.MetroOpensDoors.com or www.dcmetrostore.com.

One exciting highlight at the online Metro Store allows customers to choose any Metrorail station, including the brand new New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet U Metrorail station, and create a customized T-shirt, coffee mug or mouse pad. A software program will generate a rendering of the item selected with the station name and colored dots corresponding to the Metrorail lines that serve the chosen station. A L" Enfant Plaza shirt, mug or mouse pad, for example, will feature the station name, and green, yellow, blue and orange dots indicating the lines that the station serves.

Early bird shoppers could also be the first to wear T-shirts bearing the names of the soon-to-be-opened Largo Town Center and Morgan Boulevard Metrorail stations. The station T- shirts are available in both youth and adult sizes.

The Metro Store includes books, posters, stationery, children’s gifts, and cufflinks fashioned out of antique DC Transit bus tokens. Also of interest is a new stationery line with note cards depicting picturesque scenes of Metrorail and Metrobus.

To visit Metro’s gift store go to www.dcmetrostore.com. Customers can place orders online, call 866-4-DC-Metro or fax 888-888-9576. Gift certificates also are available.
