Cracked rail discovered at Van Dorn Street Metorail station

Customers headed downtown from Franconia-Springfield to experience minor delays

Metrorail customers headed downtown from Franconia-Springfield are going to experience minor delays this morning as a result of a cracked rail that was discovered this morning on an outbound track at 7:09 a.m. at the Van Dorn Street Metrorail station on the Blue Line.

For every two inbound trains there is only one outbound train, however the demand for service is inbound. Customers can expect it to take slightly longer to get in town and can expect more crowded Blue Line trains this morning.
