Metro’s Friday online chat focuses on customer service

Metro Assistant General Manager for Communications Leona Agouridis will respond directly to online questions about customer service issues on Friday, February 18, when the transit authority hosts "Metro LunchTalk Online"--a live hour-long online chat from noon to 1 p.m.

This Friday’s session will feature Ms. Agouridis as the host of the fifth online chat hosted by Metro. The launch of the online chats is one example of a relatively new customer service feature that Metro has initiated in the past couple of months to enhance customer communication. Metro Board Chairman Dana Kauffman will outline his goals for the year on Thursday when he chairs his first Board meeting of the year at which time he will be announcing a handful of new customer-focused initiatives that will be launched in the coming months.

"Improving customer service is an important part of the ’back-to-basics’ approach that we are targeting for improvement," Ms. Agouridis said. "I’m sure our customers will see that we are being more proactive in seeking their input and feedback on a variety of issues. Hopefully we can explore some of these new ideas during the chat."

Metro customers can log onto Metro LunchTalk Online directly at www.forums-wmata.com. Participants must register in advance if they want to submit questions during one of the forums. Viewers who prefer to follow along without submitting questions are not required to register. One of the features of registering is that if someone submits a question, the original sender of the question will receive an email if a response to his/her inquiry has been posted. As many questions as possible will be answered during the hour-long session.

An archive of all of the question and answer sessions is posted on the web site for future reference. Persons without internet access can call Metro’s Customer Service Office at 202-637-1328 and request a session transcript.
