Metrobus service route changes in Virginiabegin the week of March 27


Schedule adjustments designed to improve service

Several service changes on Metrobus will be implemented on 13 lines in Virginia starting the week of March 27. These changes are in response to customer requests and will eliminate overcrowding on some routes, shorten passenger waits between trips on others, and improve transfer connections between buses and trains.

Wilson Boulevard-Fairfax Line, Routes 1B-Z Weekday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Tysons Corner-Dunn Loring Line, Route 2T Weekday and Saturday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Pershing Drive-Arlington Boulevard Line, Routes 4A-S Weekday midday service will be adjusted to arrive and leave Rosslyn Metrorail station every 25 minutes instead of every 22 to 23 minutes to improve schedule adherence. Weekday peak and evening trip times on Route 4A, 4B, 4E and 4H will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions as well as improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Lincolnia - North Fairlington Line, Routes 7A and 7F Saturday service between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. will be adjusted to arrive and leave the Pentagon Metrorail station every 33-34 minutes instead of every 30 minutes to improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Mount Vernon Express Line, Route 11Y Weekday afternoon trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Annandale-Skyline City-Pentagon Line, Route 16L Weekday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Barcroft-South Fairlington Line, Route 22A Weekday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Ballston-Bradlee-Pentagon Line, Routes 25 A, F, G, J and P Weekday midday service on Route 25J will be adjusted to operate every 62 minutes instead of every 60 minutes to improve schedule adherence. Weekday peak and evening trip times on Routes 25A, 25F, 25G and 25P will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions as well as improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Landmark-Ballston Line, Route 25B Weekday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Alexandria-Tysons Corner Line, Route 28B Saturday evening trip times on the following trips will be adjusted due to increased ridership:

  • The westbound trip leaving King Street station at 8:57 p.m. will leave at 8:53 p.m. and arrive at Tysons Corner Center at 9:53 p.m.(current arrive time).
  • The eastbound trip leaving Tysons Corner Center at 9:02 p.m. will leave at 9 p.m. and arrive at King Street station at 10:02 p.m.
  • The eastbound trip leaving Tysons Corner Center at 11:05 p.m. will leave at 11 p.m. and arrive at King Street station at 12:07 a.m.

In addition, running times on the Saturday evening eastbound trips leaving Tysons Corner Center at 8:02 and 10 p.m., and westbound leaving King Street station at 10:10 p.m., will be adjusted so that these trips pass time points along the line 5 to 15 minutes later than currently scheduled. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Tysons Corner - West Falls Church Line, Route 28T Weekday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Alexandria - Fairfax Line, Routes 29K and 29N Weekday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence. Customers should consult the new schedule for revised trip times and transfer connections.

Richmond Highway Express - REX All weekday, Saturday and Sunday southbound trips will leave King Street station two to three minutes later than currently scheduled to reflect the actual routing operated via Dulany Street and Jamieson Avenue. Southbound trip times at other points along the line will not change.
