Metro Announces Weekend Service Changes

Customers using Metro’s Orange, Green and Red Lines this weekend may experience delays due to track maintenance work.

Please note the following schedule changes for this weekend:

Orange Line - On Saturday, May 14, from opening (7 a.m.) to 2 p.m., and Sunday, May 15, from opening (7 a.m.) to 11 a.m., trains will share one track between East Falls Church and West Falls Church-VT/UVA.

Green Line - On Saturday, May 14, from opening (7 a.m.) to 3 p.m., trains will share one track between Greenbelt and College Park-U of Md.

Red Line - On Saturday, May 14, from opening (7 a.m.) to 4 p.m., trains will share one track between Shady Grove and Twinbrook.

To perform this work, all trains will share one track between these work locations -- trains traveling in opposite directions alternately on the same track.

On the Red Line between Shady Grove and Twinbrook, Metro personnel will be performing preliminary switch maintenance work outside of the Twinbrook Metrorail station.

On the Orange Line between East Falls Church and West Falls Church-VT/UVA and the Green Line between Greenbelt and College Park-U of Md, Metro personnel will be performing routine track maintenance.

Customers traveling between these work locations this weekend should add 15 to 20 minutes of time when traveling through these areas.
