Metrobus Service to Kennedy Center to Change

Beginning Monday, June 6, Metrobus route 80, the North Capitol Street Line, will operate on a new route in the vicinity of the Kennedy Center with construction of a new underground parking facility and roadway just completed. Metrobuses will no longer use the southbound roadway immediately adjacent to the building and the bus stop and terminal stand will be located across the plaza from the building on the northbound roadway. The Kennedy Center will install and maintain two bus shelters at the new bus stop.

Southbound, the 80 will operate on its regular route to the intersection of Virginia Avenue N.W., and the traffic circle at New Hampshire Avenue; then around the traffic circle at New Hampshire Avenue; a right on 25th Street, (south); continue to the Kennedy Center main roadway (southbound), counterclockwise around the bus loop south of the building; and continue onto the Kennedy Center main roadway (northbound) to the new terminal stand on the east side of the Kennedy Center main roadway, south of the raised crosswalk.

Northbound, the Route 80 bus will operate from the new terminal stand on the east side of the Kennedy Center main roadway, south of the raised crosswalk; continue on the Kennedy Center main roadway northbound); continue on 25th Street, N.W., to the traffic circle at Virginia Avenue; and continue on its regular route.
