Patrons Attending Saturday Evening’s Concert at FedEX Field are Encouraged to Use Metro

This Saturday, June 4, country musician Kenney Chesney will host an afternoon and evening concert at FedEX Field in Landover, Md. With large crowds expected at the concert, which starts at 4:30 p.m. and ends by 11 p.m., Metro is encouraging patrons attending the concert to use the Morgan Boulevard Metrorail station on the Blue Line, a short walking distance from FedEX Field.

On Saturday, Metrorail will operate on its normal Blue Line weekend schedule. Metro will have personnel positioned at Morgan Boulevard to assist customers attending this event.

If necessary, Metro will have several additional trains ready to enter service, depending on the size of the crowds after the event.

Metro advises customers attending the event to have enough money on their SmarTrip card, or to buy their round-trip farecard when first entering the Metrorail system.

Also this weekend, Metro will conduct a major track project on the Red Line at the Twinbrook Metrorail station that will require trains to share one track between Shady Grove and Grosvenor-Strathmore. Patrons attending Saturday’s concert from the Shady Grove to White Flint areas are encouraged to bypass the track project and use the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metrorail station, as trains will operate on a greater frequency from this station.
