Metro Board meetings heard via the Internet

Metro riders don’t have to show up at the transit authority’s monthly Board meetings to find out what is happening. Beginning tomorrow, they can listen live via the Internet. Computer users can go to Metro’s Web site and listen to the meetings held the third Thursday of every month at 11 a.m.

Audio recordings of previous meetings will be archived on the Web site for one year. The broadcasts are part of a series of initiatives the Board announced to invite more public input. The link can be found at www.metroopensdoors.com. Click on "About Metro" then "Board of Directors," then "Audio broadcast of Board meetings". The direct link is (http://wmata.granicus.com/viewPublisher.php" view_id=2). Computers must have Microsoft Media Player installed to listen to the meetings.
