Thursday morning Red Line service impacted by incident

Red Line trains single-tracked from 5:18 to 6:40 a.m. this morning between Forest Glen and Silver Spring Metrorail stations while police and emergency personnel investigated the discovery of a deceased male on the outbound tracks just north of the Silver Spring station. A bus bridge was also used to move customers between the Wheaton, Forest Glen, Silver Spring and Takoma stations.

A Metro track supervisor who was working in the area discovered the man’s body at 3:22 a.m.

The Forest Glen and Silver Spring Metrorail stations opened at 5:18 a.m. with trains single-tracking through the area. Early morning commuters experienced delays as trains had to take turns sharing the inbound track while investigators and emergency personnel worked at the site of the incident on the outbound track.
