Metro Details Weekday Single Tracking Work Schedule

Track Work to Occur Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Most Weekdays

The remainder of this summer and into fall, Metro will conduct weekday track work that will involve temporary single-track operations during the middle of the day.

Through the end of the year, Metro is undertaking several major track renovation projects weekdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., that will require trains to share one track allowing for trains to run in both directions on one track during normal operations. As individual sections of track are repaired, trains must share a single track through the affected area. This "single tracking" can result in delays.

The track renovation program is part of Metro’s major capital program that includes the repair of the Metrorail system. The majority of this work is done late at night and on weekends, however, some work during regular weekday service hours cannot be avoided.
