Metro Announces Weekend Single Tracking

This Saturday, September 10, Metro will perform track maintenance on the Red, Green and Yellow Lines. During this work period, customers’ trips will take 10-15 minutes longer than usual.

Please note the following schedule for this Saturday:

Red Line - On Saturday, September 10, from opening (7 a.m.) to 10 a.m., trains will share one track between Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood.

Green/Yellow Line - on Saturday, September 10, from opening (7 a.m.) to 10 a.m., trains will share one track between L’Enfant Plaza and Mt. Vernon Square/7th St-Convention Center.

To perform this work, Metro must single-track trains  operate trains traveling in opposite directions alternately on the same track.

On the Red Line and the Yellow and Green Lines, Metro personnel will perform routine track maintenance.
