Metro employees donate $40,000 to the American Red Cross

Metro employees donated $40,029 to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts today.

Immediately after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, Metro employees asked how they could help. The transit authority held a one-week fundraising drive last week, urging all employees to give as generously as possible to help the individuals and communities devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Reaching out to Gulf Coast residents was a natural extension of Metro’s long tradition of community outreach and charitable giving.
