Get cash at Chevy Chase Bank Metro ATMs and you could ride free for a year!


From September 14 to 25, Chevy Chase Bank’s new Metrorail ATMs will dispense coupons with chances to win free Metrorail rides, parking and other prizes

Free rides on Metro are among the many prizes for lucky winners in an exciting 12-day promotion, thanks to a partnership between the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) and Chevy Chase Bank.

 

Chevy Chase Bank is celebrating the installation of ATMs throughout the Metrorail system with an plenty of prizes. From September 14 to 25, Chevy Chase Bank ATMs in Metrorail stations will dispense coupons along with cash to anyone making a withdrawal. Winning coupons feature such prizes as $5 Metro farecards, $25 cash bonuses with direct deposit in a new Chevy Chase Bank checking account, Washington Capitals tickets and Chevy Chase Bank tote bags. And, one lucky winner may walk away with the grand prize of one year’s worth of free rides on Metrorail and free parking.

 

To kick off the Metro ATM Celebration on September 14, "ATM Guy" a 7-foot tall walking Chevy Chase Bank ATM mascot and his entourage will ride in a special Chevy Chase Bank-wrapped Metro train and distribute T-shirts and other giveaways at the Metro Center, Gallery Place-Chinatown and Bethesda Metrorail stations. In all, more than 7,000 prizes will be awarded from September 14 to 25, and odds of winning are about one in 10.

 

"Metrorail’s customers have been clamoring for the convenience of ATMs in the stations, and we’re delighted to be able to meet their needs," said Scott McSween, Chevy Chase Bank’s executive vice president of retail banking. "Chevy Chase Bank has nearly 250 branches throughout the region and nearly 1,000 ATMs. It just makes sense for the area’s most convenient bank to partner with the most convenient way to get around town. Our ATMs will make it easier than ever for customers to get quick cash where and when they need it."

 

Chevy Chase Bank ATMs are now available in 34 Metrorail stations: Archives-Navy Mem’l-Penn Quarter, Bethesda, Branch Ave, Capital South, Columbia Heights, Crystal City, Dupont Circle, Eastern Market, Farragut North, Farragut West, Federal Triangle, Foggy BottomGWU, Fort Totten, FranconiaSpringfield, Friendship Heights, Gallery Pl-Chinatown, Greenbelt, Huntington, Judiciary Sq, King Street, Largo Town Center, L’Enfant Plaza, McPherson Square, Metro Center, New Carrollton, Pentagon City, Rosslyn, Shady Grove, Silver Spring, Smithsonian, Suitland, Union Station, Vienna/FairfaxGMU and West Falls Church.

 

The Chevy Chase Bank ATMs can be found in the farecard purchase area of the stations and will dispense cash in multiples of $10s and $20s, making it easier for riders to purchase Metrorail farecards and SmarTrip cards from the vending machines. The ATMs will be accessible whenever the Metrorail system is open: 5 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays; 5 a.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays; 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Saturdays; and 7 a.m. to midnight Sundays.
