Metro Announces Additional Weekend Service Changes

Trains to Share One Track on the Red and Green Lines

This weekend, in addition to the major track maintenance project at Braddock Road on the Blue and Yellow Lines, Metro has scheduled additional weekend work on the Red and Green Lines. Customers traveling on these rail lines should plan accordingly and add extra time into their schedules.

Please note the following schedule changes for this weekend:

Red Line - On Friday, September 23, from 10 p.m. to closing (3 a.m.), Red Line trains will share one track between Dupont Circle and Van Ness-UDC n while Metro personnel install communication cables between these locations.

Green Line - On Saturday, September 23, and Sunday, September 24, from opening (7 a.m.) to 7 p.m., Green Line trains will share one track between Greenbelt and Fort Totten while Metro conducts rail equipment testing.

To perform this work, all trains will share one track between these work locations -- trains traveling in opposite directions alternately on the same track.
